How SMS Opt-In Works in CedarPost
Operated by Stetline LLC, Lancaster, California · illustrations of the CedarPost mobile app's consent flow
CedarPost is members-only church software: text messaging reaches a person only after they've joined their own church in the app and turned text messages on themselves. This page documents the complete opt-in surface — every screen on which a member can consent to text messages appears below; there is no other path, in the app or on the web, by which a phone number can be added to the program.
Current status: pre-launch. CedarPost has not been publicly released. The app is in testing with its first congregation and is distributed to testers through Apple TestFlight. The text-message program has not yet sent any messages; carrier registration is being completed first. The screens below illustrate the consent flow as built in the app.
The full flow, in order:
Install and join — with the church's approval
A new member installs CedarPost, creates an account, and enters their church's private invite code. That only files a request: a church administrator must approve them before they're a member at all. Nobody is in the system — let alone receiving messages — without both the invite code and staff approval.
The join screen. The request then waits for a church administrator's approval.
Text messages are OFF by default
Every member controls their own notification channels from Notification Settings on their profile. The text-message toggle starts off — no member receives SMS unless they enable it themselves. There is no pre-checked box and no admin can turn it on for them.
The default state: text messages off.
The member opts in — with the terms in front of them
Enabling the toggle is the consent action, and the terms sit directly beneath it at the moment of choice:
Opt-in enabled, with the consent language visible under the toggle.
Opting out is always one step away
The member can turn text messages back off at any time on the same screen, or reply STOP to any message — either one ends texts immediately. Replying HELP returns help information and our support contact, support@cedarpost.app. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Mobile numbers and opt-in status are never shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes — see our Privacy Policy. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
